Our tour is designer to cover the most of Rome in one day.
During your drive into Rome from Civitavecchia, your private driver will point out various points of interest along the way and answer any questions that you may have about your day.
You will drive along a scenic highway through the countryside of Rome and see the Etruscan landscape where the ancient Etruscan people lived in ancient times.
Entering in Rome, you will first see the Colisum, the world's most impressive ancient amphitheater and the proud symbol of Rome along the centuries.
The Circus Maximus (Latin for greatest or largest circus ) is an ancient Roman chariot racing stadium and mass entertainment venue located in Rome, Italy. Situated in the valley between the Aventine and Palatine hills, it was the first and largest stadium in ancient Rome and its later Empire. It measured 621 m (2,037 ft) in length and 118 m (387 ft) in width and could accommodate over 150,000 spectators.[1] In its fully developed form, it became the model for circuses throughout the Roman Empire. The site is now a public park.
Majestically sitting behind the stadium, you will see the Palatine Hill where the villas and the domus’ of the emperors were built. A domus was a spacious house that wealthy and some middle class families owned in ancient Rome and could be found in almost all of the major cities of the Roman Empire.
Your next stop in Rome's historic center will be Capitoline Hill where you will be treated to a panoramic splendor sweeping across the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill from a terrace known for the most picturesque view. It is incredible to imagine that the vast remains of temples and public buildings in the Roman Forum were once part of the most important center of the Roman Empire as it served as its political, legal, financial and religious nucleus.
After the Capitoline Hill, you will reach Piazza Venezia where is located the Altare della Patria, dedicated to the first king of Italy, and where Mussolini used to takes his speechs to the people.
Passing Piazza venezia, you will be in the heart of Baroque Rome. Your driver will leave you near Spanish Steps where you will have the chance to walk and visit the Pantheon, Piazza del Popolo, Piazza Navona, Palazzo Farnese and more.
At the end, continue along the Tiber River till Vatican Square. You can decide to visit the Cathedral ( be careful to the Opening Times), before returning to Civitavecchia.
On the way back, depending on time available, you will have the chance to say goodbye to Rome from the Gianicolo.
Known as the city of seven hills, the Gianicolo (or Janiculum), the hill that offers the best view of Rome. It's close to the historic center, just above the Vatican and the Trastevere neighborhood — and the panorama (not to mention the silence) from the top takes your breath away.
